Ridgewood Walks is a 100% volunteer initiative that brings residents and neighbors together. We love connecting with others and encouraging our community to explore our village’s history in a fun and healthy way. Come walk with us!
Free Walking Tours Since 2017, we’ve invited participants to sign up for free, themed walking tours. Volunteer guides or “ambassadors” lead groups throughout our downtown and neighborhoods to meet local business owners and community leaders to discover what makes Ridgewood so unique and livable.
Community Bonding We host events like “Fostering a Pedestrian Friendly Community” with the Ridgewood Public Library to bring together a panel of experts and an audience of our residents and leaders for a discussion about what makes a town walkable and vibrant.
Pedestrian Safety Our events always promote safety for pedestrians and cyclists by encouraging walking instead of driving. We bring awareness with promoting the national campaign, “KEEP KIDS ALIVE DRIVE 25®”. KEEP KIDS ALIVE DRIVE 25® signs for resident yards are available upon request. We love the initiative Stop Look Wave, which teaches pedestrians and drivers to communicate while sharing the roads.
Podcasts We help to unify our village by talking to the people who make Ridgewood dynamic and special. Jeanne Johnson hosts interviews with residents and community leaders.
